Dr. Huckabee is currently the Director of the Physician Assistant Program in the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) School of Allied Health Professions and editor for abstracts and brief reports for the Journal of Physician Assistant Education (PAEA). He is passionate about primary care and has recently obtained two federal grants nearing $2 million for PA education, all to support preparing PAs for primary care. Dr. Huckabee has served as president of the Iowa Physician Assistant Society and three terms on the AAPA Education Council.  Clinically he has worked as a Physician Assistant mainly in rural family medicine and pediatrics.  Dr. Huckabee enjoys writing and has published two works of fiction.  He has received numerous awards including Teacher of the Year. However, his greatest accomplishment is his loving family, including his wife Nancy, and their four children: Tyler, Tanner, Baily, and Emily.
